“Small is beautiful”
This is certainly true for the kitchen and utility room we designed for Tim & Lori’s 17th century thatched cottage.
Although both rooms are small, the most has been made of the available space. The utility room has open shelving to store walking boots and shoes, as well as a run of tall storage cabinets. The kitchen has space saving appliances including a Quooker boiling water tap and BORA venting hob.
As you would expect, the cottage has plenty of charm and character including wonky walls and exposed wooden beams, and our design took these into consideration. When it came to the kitchen installation, our talented fitters expertly scribed the furniture into the walls, and the stone mason worked their magic in fabricating and fitting the worktops.
The furniture is British made and bespoke painted to match Farrow & Ball’s “Lichen”. For the worktops, Tim and Lori chose a beautiful piece of granite, which looks amazing with the colour of the furniture. They also opted to re-purpose a wooden worktop, using this above oven in the kitchen, and had a small bench seating area created in the utility room.
Our experience with Haydown Kitchens was nothing short of exceptional. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and would highly recommend Haydown Kitchens to anyone in their search of top-tier design and installation services.
