It All Started With...
… a young Chris helping his mother restore some furniture. Little did he know that this would ignite a passion for designing and creating beautiful furniture and lead to the creation of Haydown Kitchens in 2011.
Meet Chris
We have always been a family that worked with our hands. From an early age I found that I was interested in helping my mother restore junk furniture and the process of French polishing. This took me to studying furniture design and the perfect path to follow my father in the business he'd recently set up making wooden furniture.
My Passion
I realised then that I had found my passion and took the bold step to branch out on my own. I was now designing, making and installing furniture to commission, which led to the creation of the brand, Haydown Kitchens, in 2011. Introducing Lis into the business has seen it grow from strength to strength. We've outgrown previous premises and in 2020 the opportunity came to take on the 19th century barn in Stockbridge, Hampshire, where our showroom now is.
Meet Lis
My background couldn’t be more different Chris’! I come from the travel industry, with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service. I know how hard it can be for customers to envisage their dream, and I'm used to helping them work through ideas into reality. It used to be luxurious holidays and destinations, and now it's kitchens.
It's All in the Detail
We have a large network of trusted suppliers, who I work closely with to ensure the smooth running of any project. At Haydown Kitchens I wear lots of different hats and no two days are ever the same. One moment I can be busy carrying out all the “behind the scenes”, detailed organisational work, and the next I am meeting new customers in the showroom. Finding the right pieces of the puzzle to complete your dream kitchen is something I love doing.
